I think 2-3 is probably enough as bombarding readers with too many
will probably not have the desired effect. Most members are also
members of other forums and most members don't have too much
spare time on their hands so while they will look at one or two links
they are more likely to just gloss over several and not click on any
of them. Just my opinion...

The thing is, i would assume that people who don't post site in sig and or profile are perhaps newbies and do not know their way around.
Although that is not always the case :D

Forums are so helpful. Some people only use them to interact with other people or ask questions though and not to promote their own site in their sig file space. Although many millions of people do, do this and if you have your own website it's a good idea to make sure you do especially if you have lots of different forum accounts!
